Patron, supporter, and paid subscriber update!
A thanks for support - and things have been very busy!!!
To my paid subscribers, things have been quite busy around here, and I am very sorry for a lack of a paid update lately. Currently I’m in the depths of my much-desired sabbatical, which means that while I get to avoid teaching duties for a semester, the expectation is that I am very much in the throes of completing at least one large scale project.
Of course, one large scale project would not be my style, so what follows is an overview of the avalanche I attempt to ski down on a daily basis:
1.) My official sabbatical project was supposed to be a resetting of my unpremiered Symphony No#1 - Symphony of Sacred Songs. Shortly before sabbatical began, however, my CD hit #1 (no thanks to your support), and new attention began to find my work. I’ve had a wonderful new chamber orchestra in Europe (whose name must remain quiet for just a little while longer, until everything is official) reach out and ask me to compose a large-scale setting of the Seven Last Words of Christ. And so I have been at it, and this little animated gif shows a quick scroll through the video 684 measures thusfar composed:
